11 years!

Yesterday was our 11 year anniversary.  We decided to not even get each other cards this year...how sad is that.  That's how we know we're definitely an old married couple.  Instead of buying each other gifts, we have always liked to do something together.  Last year we biked through France.  Unfortunately, this year was not quite as exciting, but we did still have a fun day.  We dropped the kids off at daycare and drove about an hour away to the "Yadkin Valley" area and hit a few of the NC wineries.  Most people think of sweet wine when they think of NC wines.  There were quite a few of those, but these wineries also make the reds that we tend to like.  (One even won the "blue ribbon" for cabernets at the NC State fair...not sure how much of an honor that really is, but we pretended to be impressed).  We actually really enjoyed our day.  We've said that we definitely want to take a big trip on our "big" anniversaries, with our next being 15 years.  Next year is our 20th anniversary of our first "date" (if you call Taco Bell and a movie a date...Adam better be glad he's good looking and a nice guy since that date was not the most impressive date.  I guess we didn't have many options at 15).  I think that counts as a good enough reason for a fun trip.  Grandparents, are you ready for some babysitting? :)
